JFCS honors the organization’s original mission providing social service programs for the Jewish community helping people in need. Our compassionate, highly skilled professional staff and caring volunteers provide a wide range of vital services. For Jews of all ages and from all walks of life, we offer a continuum of services that help overcome life’s challenges so families and individuals can enjoy more fulfilling lives.
- Jewish Counseling provides the services of licensed Jewish therapists who treat a range of life’s challenges experienced by children, teenagers, adults and older adults.
- Helping Hands is an emergency assistance fund that provides specific, short-term financial assistance to Jewish individuals or families in Maricopa County who are otherwise unable to meet their basic needs.
- Chagim – Holiday Programs, in the spirit of tzedakah, bringing joy into the lives of those touched by financial, physical, or emotional hardship our Holiday Programs provide financial assistance for holiday meals, gifts for families in need and High Holiday tickets.
- Jewish Older Adult Services provides practical, reliable, and compassionate in-home counseling and care to Jewish seniors living throughout Maricopa County that allow loved ones to remain at home, enjoying life and independence, even when a person’s physical capabilities are compromised. The program also provides professional counseling and bereavement support in the Sun Cities.
- Aleinu Network From the Hebrew meaning “it is our responsibility,” the Aleinu Network reaches out to the Orthodox community, though open to the entire Jewish Community, and offers culturally sensitive resources for strengthening individual and family life. Services include mental health education, parenting groups, Annual Women’s Health Symposium, therapy and intervention for children, teens, adults, couples and families who need emotional support through times of crisis. Programs operate under the direction of the Halachic Advisory Board of the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of Phoenix.
- Hospital Chaplaincy Program provides spiritual care and support to patients as well as their families in 14 hospitals throughout the Phoenix metro area.
- Center for Senior Enrichment located at Beth El Congregation in North Central Phoenix, is the only Jewish Senior Center in the Phoenix area. It offers education, health and wellness programs, nutritious kosher lunches, exercise, cultural outings, a variety of ever-changing activities and home-delivered kosher meals to those older adults living in North Central Phoenix unable to attend the senior center.
- Information, Referral and Resources: From guidance on how best to help an elderly parent, friend or family member with a mental illness, Jewish families facing financial crisis, family in need of resources during the holiday seasons, or making connections with local Jewish organizations, JFCS offers assistance to connect you and your family to the greater Phoenix Jewish community.
- Holocaust Survivor Services: JFCS assists Holocaust survivors in our community and in outlying areas in Arizona to apply for reparations and emergency financial assistance and acts as an agent on their behalf with the Blue Card, Inc and the Claims Conference (The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany).
